What's up guys! First off, I would like to thank you for coming on to read this!
Here's my problem : I can't allocate ANY amount of ram into my Minecraft!
I've tried going to as low as 1GB of ram and it still dosen't work! It's stuck at a consistent 455mb *similar case for launchers such as FTB and Tekkit* It just keeps loading and then closing my Minecraft NO ERROR MESSAGE WHATSOEVER!
It's starting to hurt my butt! I really hope someone would be able to help!
P.S. I'm trying to allocate 4 GB (I have a 16 GB computer)! Here's my JVM argument : -Xmx4G -Xms4G
P.S.S I have to install both 32x and 64x Java (Browser/Computer, respectively)
hi I dont know if I can be much help but I just did this recently.
it seems like you did everything right with your JVM argument. The only suggestion i have is to just use one version of java. I believe I only use 64bit java and I was able to allocate more memory to minecraft. I have it set to 4gb.
if you need to use both versions of java this may not be helpful to you.
I did this because I wanted to see if changing the setting would allow me to blow up huge balls of tnt 100 blocks in diameter. hehe.. it didnt really work for that but I did see memory usage spike to almost 4gb when messing around with this. I dont think minecraft will ever use more than 4gb ram in any situation from this experiment. I think this using more memory also helps when generating jungle biomes..
