Ok so I haven't played MC in quite some time, but last I played it certainly doesn't look like what it does now. All I can see are clouds and shadows and the sun/moon.
I have tried re-installing, updating drivers, re-installing drivers, trying different versions of drivers for both Java, and my GPU.
Nothing seems to fix this, and it is a completely fresh copy of MC. Any advice?

GPU: Radeon 7950
RAM: 8 GB
OS: Windows 7 Professional x64
Here's what it looks like: (for the record, in the picture, I am actually deep underground looking up at what should be the cave ceiling)
I'm experiencing this very same problem. I came on here to see if anyone else was experiencing it and sure enough.... I last played 1.7.2 with no problems. Reformatted my computer about a month ago and decided I was ready to play again, so this was a totally fresh installation. I had this problem. Deleted .minecraft folder and tried again. Same problem. This stinks =/

If you happened to install the AMD beta 14.1 drivers thats the issue, they were broken and will need to be fully uninstalled before installing either the stable 13.x drivers, or the fixed 14.2 Beta drivers.
If you didn't install the aforementioned drivers goto minecrafts video settings and set mipmap levels to off.
