Ok so I got my PC fixed today and now it has 1TB of memory I thought the memory was the reason I was lagging but no I get on and I have 17 FPS I was using my old PC and it ran better than that! my computer was made in 2012 its a gateway laptop with 1TB of memory and 8gb of ram and it LAGS PLEASE HELP.
Try updating your version of Java, that can make a difference. You also can go to Java's settings and allow Java to use more of your RAM (I can't remember how, just google it). I know that those 2 things can really help. Also, if your computer is dual-core/64-bit, use the 64-bit version of Java.
Adding storage will not help Minecraft unless you are running out of storage. The storage is just to put 1's and 0's on. Minecraft does not use storage directly (mostly). It goes to the ram first and then the storage. The biggest players in any game's perfomance is the GPU and the CPU (mostly GPU).
