I had this first happen a while ago, but life got in the way of playing.
Now that I'm back I tried to enter the nether but as soon as I finish teleporting there the game freezes and crashes
And to run the game again I have to make a fresh install or now I'v jsut got a backup of the game in a separate folder if this situation happens

I'm running no mods, and running it with 2gb of ram. The save is old beta 1.75 I think it was started.

When the generic windows message saying the game has crashed there is this under problem signature

Well I solved the crashing problem by going into the save folder and deleting DIM-1 folder, and haven't had any problems since.

Guess the nether loaded with some broken chuncks. Well, you fixed your own error.
