I just started to play Minecraft again, and when I downloaded the new launcher and started it up, I am getting an error: Could not find or load main class net.minecraft.client.main.Main. I never had this problem using the old launcher. I was able to play 1.5.2 on this computer just fine. After browsing the forums for the last couple of days, I could not find anyone else that had this problem and got it fixed. I would really like to play Minecraft again.
Attemted Fixes:
Un-installed and re-installed Java.
Installed all updates for Windows minus IE updates.
Renamed previous Minecraft 1.5.2 folder to remove conflicts.
Deleted the .Minecraft folder and re-installed Minecraft.
You said you have slow internet, and I'm afraid that is probably the cause, as some files are downloading, yet others are timing out.
You'll have to keep retrying until all the files are eventually downloaded.

I have slow internet, so it took me two times to get the entire .Minecraft folder downloaded.
