The Toshiba L300 laptops have an on-board Mobile Intel 4 Series Express chipset.
I installed Win 8. Minecraft does not work - "update your graphics driver....OpenGL...."
dxdiag identifies:
Win 8 runs with this driver:

Some posts suggest looking at Toshiba's site:
On Toshiba's site, they do not have graphics drivers for Windows 8; they only have drivers up to 32-bit and 64-bit Vista. I don't know how to load these older drivers; I get an error message.
Another post suggested installing an older Win 7 driver. On Intel's site, there are Win 7 and Win Vista Intel drivers, but again, I get an error when I try to install these.
At present, I have not figured out how to run Minecraft. Anyone had experience with this laptop?
Well, I followed the instructions at the Intel site that you gave me, and once again, Minecraft is fully operational !
I don't know why it stopped working after I had first set it up as described in the thread above, but all is well - so thank you again. I'm sure that there are a ton of laptops with this Intel graphics card out there, so hopefully this thread will be of use to others!

The instructions no longer work ... the Intel-workaround page has disappeared.
Anyonehave any ideas on how to get past the graphics driver problem with this laptop?

You may have to use the "Have Disk" option from the "Let me pick..." option to force the Device Manager to install the drivers.
