Hello. I've been having issues with my Minecraft for a few months. I finally figured out how to fix it, or so I thought, but I'm still having trouble getting into the game.
Or rather, it seems the download is failing, and I don't understand why.
Here's what was under the Development Console tab:
[15:48:20 INFO]: Client> # A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:
[15:48:20 INFO]: Client> # EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x06253ed8, pid=4772, tid=4660
[15:48:20 INFO]: Ignoring visibility rule and showing launcher due to a game crash
I really don't understand any of this, but I have a feeling it's got something to do with my laptop, maybe blocking something?
Anyway, any help would be appreciated.
Download isn't failing, your graphics card drivers are failing
[15:48:20 INFO]: Client> # C [ig4dev32.dll+0x3ed8]
Can you please try running minecraft 1.7.2, if that works then your graphics card isn't able to run minecraft 1.7.4 and above, to play 1.7.4+ you will need to purchase a newer laptop.

Thank you so much. This really helped. I'm in the market for a new laptop, but am wondering if I upgraded my graphics driver if I could play 1.7.4 and up?

ModeratorMmkay. Thank you again. I'm not as tech savvy as I'd like to be.
