So it's been a few months, and I felt like getting back on Minecraft. Trouble is, the launcher keeps crashing.
I have tried to search around for issues similar to mine and it seems to be that I'm in trouble, I can't seem to find an update for my graphics card and I can't really replace it, nor can I afford to replace my laptop right now.
*My questions are:*
Can I go back to a previous version of Minecraft that did work fine for me?
Would I then have to get an old version of Java?
Could it run out of the new launcher?
Is there any other way to be able to play it without spending money replacing parts that I haven't thought of to ask?

The different messages at the beginning of the crash report are cute, too!
Thanks for reading, If there is anything I may have forgot to mention just let me know.
I tried the second one you posted, knowing my kind of luck it didn't go so smoothly. /:
During the install a message came up - "Could not load file or assembly 'CLI.Implementation' or one of it's dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified." It continued to install so I let it go, then near the end it said "Application Install: install package failure." But it still went on after that. Then It made it to the end and showed me a log saying that failures had occurred during installation.
Ok, I've got Minecraft working now. So I'll leave this here for future reference should anyone have the same problem.
I checked to see if I had any updates for Windows, and there was one. The check box hadn't been ticked when I did my update last, so it didn't install. It was for '.NET Framework'. After installing and rebooting I thought I'd have another try at opening Minecraft again and *ohmigosh* it worked!
Still without AMD Catalyst, but that's another problem for another day.
Thanks for all your help, cestislife.

Retired StaffIn any case, please install the Catalyst Software Suite here,
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy2&os=Windows Vista - 32
But when I [Windows+PauseBreak] that shows up as a 64 bit Operating system. Is that what it's capable of doing, then?
Anywho, I'll download this and let you know. Thanks for posting.

Retired StaffOh I see, Windows Vista does not really show what architecture it is in the DxDiag log.
If so, please install the 64-bit variant of the Catalyst Software Suite here,
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy2&os=Windows Vista - 64
I'm not sure what to do now...
