Hello, I have a problem with my computer's random fps drops. I can steady about 120fps with settings near max but every few minutes I drop to 0fps, spanning from 1s to longest been about 10s. This is very annoying and gets me killed in PvP occasionally. What can I do to fix?

I've found that disabling real-time protection in your Antivirus (Windows 8 ships with Defender if you don't have an antivirus) all but eliminated my problems with getting lag spikes of death.
I've tried adding exclusions to Windows Defender, but that doesn't seem to be enough. You have to disable active protection too, for some odd reason.

Java version 7 update 51 (latest)
Comp specs:
intel i5-4670k
gtx 770 latest drivers
monitor 60hz refresh rate
No mods installed, clean jar.
Also, I know it isn't a malware issue because I just wiped my hard drive and bought a larger one.
