here's the problem I had, my son just got a new computer running windows 7 and for some reason I could not get Minecraft to work it would go through the login screen flash the Mojang screen and then just go back to the login, I tried everything I could find from updating java to reinstalling Minecraft again and again. finally I started looking at the profile changing the settings there when I realize the screen resolution was not a fit for the new monitor ( it was more square then what was in the profile) so I minimized minecraft opened my display settings and changed Minecrafts res to match the computers and what you know it loaded right up.
I'm posting this because I know I'm not very computer savvy and I guessing not everyone out there is and I hope this will help someone,
