I had Minecraft working just fine on my laptop with Windows Vista. Then I updated to Windows 7 --which required that I wipe out all programs and re-install them. I have re-installed Minecraft twice -and still I cannot open it.
I get as far as the Minecraft Launcher 1.3.10 screen, press PLAY, the Mojang screen displays, then I am returned to the Minecraft Launcher 1.3.10 screen (see below).
Please help me figure out how to get Minecraft working again.
We need to see what is in your Development Console, which can be found on the second tab of the launcher.
First, copy all of the text. Then, go to http://pastie.org/ and paste it. Click Submit, then share with us the link that it takes you to.
I'm sorry for having to ask a lame question... but there is no Submit button that I found on pastie.org --there is a "Create Paste" button - but when I click it, I don't see any changes on the screen, and am not taken to a url. Can you assist me with this as well?
The Intel 4 Series (and older) video cards are unable to play 1.7.4 and future versions of Minecraft. You will need to buy a new video card or computer to play new versions.
For now, you can still play 1.7.2 or older versions of the game.
To change your game to a different version, start the launcher. Select Edit Profile. In the "Use Version" dropdown menu, select the game version you want. Then click Save Profile.
That worked - thank you!
Though curious that with Windows Vista, my son was playing both 1.7.4 and 1.7.5 just fine --and I didn't change the video card when I updated to Windows 7.
Thanks again!
