After a linux update about month ago my minecraft failed to Initializing. I have tried to start minecraft on the following versions unmodded 1.6.2, AT launcher 1.6.4, FTB 1.6.4, unmodded 1.7.2. All the crash reports so the same cause. I have tried un/reinstalling Java and minecraft. My Google has led me to think that Linux system update disabled my opengl. This is the command I found that led me to that conlusion anr it's report back:
