So i run about 40 fps in minecraft with texture pack, with or without texture pack there is an area about 20 blocks by 15 blocks big that if you enter it you will always hit singe digit frames, no large number of animals and it's away from my chickens, this is the area near where i was first spawned and has been doing it right along since the world was created, it also doesn;t seem to matter how high up i go as i have created a challenge house far up in the sky and even up there in the same area instant fps loss. i'll have a few links to pics from each angle of what is nearby, please help!!!

by entity count do you mean chunk updates? no idea what a skelly grinder is and there is a small redstone project i'm working on but nothing massive, also it was happening before i built that.
EDIT: just checked my chunk updates, i was at 17 before the lag started and as soon as it started i dropped to 3 chunk and 4 fps
No, by entity count he means entity count, where it says E: XX/XX (the format is "entities in view/entities in all loaded chunks"). See what the number is and post it.
A skelly (skeleton) grinder is a type of mob farm/grinder that relies on a skeleton spawner from a dungeon to spawn mobs, and collects them in an area for instant killing for their loot, or storage so you can kill them yourself for the XP. Not sure why a skelly grinder specifically could be the culprit; any other mob farm that keeps a lot of mobs in an area at once can cause lag, Keep in mind that spawners will constantly spawn mobs if there's none nearby, even if there are hundreds of them in one spot just outside of their detection range.

it went from 55/534 to 964/19?? went too fast for exact last 2 digits
I opened the world in 14w08a, and I was indeed lagging like crazy. Heading into F3 gave me a pretty good indication of the problem:
You've got 500 entities loaded at once! I popped it into MCEdit and checked it out:
The big red clump (MCEdit renders entities as red boxes) is almost 200 chickens! The smaller clump to the left is around 50 arrows. Why are there so many arrows at once? I guess the other ~250 entities are natural spawns around your world.
I recommend not having as many mobs in your farms. If that doesn't work, then I don't know what's really going on.
Like roadsguy say, don't use so match animals in farms. (Special not if u have 2-3 from this kind of farm.)
The arrows: Clean up after u test something.
I set "Minecraft Region Fixer" on u world and he found a chunk with 1000 entities. (i have remove it.)
U play with some other guys on the world. Its not an good Idee to build so many auto farms and animal grinder.
(on Singleplayer only some chunks are loaded and calculated, on multilayer all chunks near players will loading and calculated.)
OK not long tested the fix but flighting around with solid frame rate.

the arrows are bugged and stuck inside the dispensers unable to be picked up, it's a trap. the chickens drop my frame rate from about 40 to 20 i know i have too many and have been killing and eating them but the 500 entities isn;t the killer in the area opposite the train station where you took the photo i jump to almost 2k entities for an unknown reason but after it spikes and i lag it resets to the 500 which is easily managed by my computer =/
took a screenshot of it spiking to 1500 though it does go higher my timing was not perfect so i only caught the 1500

I rely fix it with the upload world but for later problems (hop u don't get them) look for the command line tool "Minecraft Regions Fixer" Its a big tool for automatic removing wrong chunks, mass entities and so on. (also can use with backups to replace defective chunks without loose to match work.)
If i see u use amplifier world. (remember that amplifier worlds took match more CPU usage than normal worlds.)
EDIT: Upss sorry i now see mediafirer don't give correct link to u fixed and uploaded world:
