So the lightning glitch that you probably already know, that started around Beta 1.8 with the signs and the chests, well here it is. It was never gone, but I though that they'd have it fixed after a while (which never happened)
I read tons and tons and tons of topics on it, and nobody ever found a way to fix it except "deal with it".
I tried again and again and again, and I had decided to deal with it mutliple times, for multiple years, after multiple trials.
I noticed an even more specific situation of when it happens, take a look at the slab:
Switched to 1.7.4 (my mistake) and it's still doing it, but with the chests on the other side.
With a lab the two other chests get darker. There's a real coding error in the lightning thing for chests and signs.
No, it's certain graphics cards. They can't really fix it. It happens to me too. I think that advanced GPU's (expensive nvidia cards, such as used by youtube professionals) don't have this problem. I've grown not to notice it.
