I recently got back into minecraft last month and have loved it and my fps were fine 40-60. Usually it was in the middle of 50. So I went on vacation and the last time I played minecraft before the frame drop was Friday. It was fine, just a little internet connection lag. BUT, on Sunday I tried playing and I went onto my favorite server, The Hive. I thought that nothing was wrong with about 10 fps, usually when I join a server it takes a minute for everything to load...but... it never worked! Just 5-15 frames.
I updated java, tried using razer game booster, reinstalled minecraft, redid my settings to the lowest (it's ALWAYS at the lowest) done almost everything. I don't know what to do!
I have a Dell Vostro 2420. My processor is Intel Core i3.
I tried adding more ram to my computer from my harddrive. Also, giving minecraft more and less ram. Not working still!
A common problem that plagues people with this problem is outdated java.
Try getting the newest version of java and uninstalling the old.

This mod increases and stabilizes FPS while giving HD ability.
Installation is easy, just drag the files from the .rar file (Don't extract the rar) to your minecraft .jar
Tweak the settings a bit till you find the right options you want.
Also pro-tip: Next time you start a topic give more info.
