I was playing around with the new Java 8 for a bit now, when I noticed that Minecraft was launching with the Java 6 binaries. I thought I uninstalled Java 6 from my system ages ago (When going up to 7) but obvioulsy not. According to the Java Control Panel the 1.8.0 binary is in:
I already checked if there was a convenient "1.8.0.jdk" in there, there isn't even a "1.7.0" so that isn't the solution.
I would have just changed what Minecraft was launching but I'm wary because the Java 8 bins are in a folder called "Internet Plug-ins" and I understand browser plugins are VERY different to desktop Java.
So, yeah. Is there a file I haven't noticed? Should I change Minecraft to launch 8 anyway? Please help.
