Hey all, I've got a persistent problem in Minecraft--I've tried reinstalling both Minecraft and Java, changing all sorts of settings, with no luck fixing it. I run Windows 8.1 64-bit.
The problem is that if I run Minecraft with sounds turned on, the game always crashes after a minute or two, taking Java down with it. The screen just locks up and I have to force-quit the program. I could just play the game without sound, but that's not as much fun (especially since I can't hear when monsters sneak up behind me), and this is obviously a problem that should be fixed.
Launcher console always shows the same error when the crash occurs:
Error in class 'CodecJOrbis'
End of file reached before finished readingOgg header in method 'readHeader'
Error in class 'CodecJOrbis'
Error reading the header
This is obviously something to do with the libraries used to play sounds in Minecraft, bu it's not the basic sound effects because those seem to work fine. I think it may have something to do with the random in-game music.
Any suggestions?
