So I'm trying to remotely help my girlfriend get her minecraft account started and she has said this error is popping up:

We're sorry, but it seems there was an error while trying to render aspects of the game.

She has a stock "Toshiba Satellite s855d" laptop, apparently about a year old?
Just had her update her graphics driver at this link:

Still no use

Any advice/suggestions? I've seen the error on a few forums and generally the response was "oof, get a new laptop"....no workaround?
