Okay, so I couldn't find any info on the internet about my problem, so I had to make an account, and ask anyone here who would be willing to help. Okay, so here is my problem.

I can't play minecraft 1.7.4 anymore. I sign in, I select my profile, and I click play, it loads the little green bar, and it shows the "Mojang" Loading picture, and then it goes black for half a second, and goes back to the Launcher.

I have had this problem for 2 days, and it started when I tried to play minecraft on Windows 8. I have 2 harddrives, and 1 is Windows 7, and the other is windows 8, well, I wanted to se if MC 1.7 would run on Windows 8 since the last time I tried it was back in 1.4.

Anyway, I tried it with my 1.7.4 profile, and and "surprise".. It crashed, and showed a report, well, I closed it out, and I wanted to play MC, so I went back onto my Windows 7 Harddrive, and I selected my 1.7.4 profile, and it showed an error. Well, this is what it looks like...

Okay, I hope you guys can solve my problem so I can play minecraf 1.7.4 again. Oh yeah, btw, all of the other versions of minecraft work.

Try going into your minecraft folder and deleting the minecraft.jar file

I have already tried to reinstall minecraft, and that didn't work. It has something to do with 1.7.4, when I tried to run it on Windows 8.

Try running minecraft as administrator. Also make sure you are using the .exe version of the launcher. Thats what fixed that problem for me.

I tried running it as admin, and I have already been using the exe. Any more suggestions?

I have the same problem on Windows 8. Make sure you have updated the graphic drivers to the latest version, but if it doesn't work from there (like mine), I don't know how to help you.

You are having an error with the OpenGL. My problem lies deep beneath the surface of minecraft. It's somewhere, and I can't find it for nothing. Btw, I tried disconnecting the Windows 8 hard drive, and it didn't work, so I know that windows 8 isn't STILL affecting it, but when I tried to run it on windows 8, that's when it changed something, and that/those thing(s) it changed is preventing me from playing MC on windows 7, on 1.7.4.

I have been playing 1.7.4 on windows 7 for a long time, and I haven't had any video card related problems. It all started when I tried to run the minecraft,exe from my download folder on windows 7 side. Okay, so this is how I ran MC on windows 8...
1st I restarted my computer, to select the windows 8 hard drive.
2nd, I signed in to my profile
3rd, I went into computer, and then selected D drive (Windows 7)
4th, I went into my account in D drive, and went into my downloads folder
5th I copied a shortcut of minecraft.exe (The one in my windows 7 downloads folder) on to my desktop.
6th, I tried to run it, it started downloading needed thing.
7th, the launcher loaded up, and "SolarEclipze" profile was the only profile there, so I selected it (It was a 1.7.4 profile) and tried to run the game.
8th, It started to load that little green bar above the "Play" button, and when it finished, it tried to load the game, and gave me a crash report.

I will read what AJFerguson posted, and if that fixes it, I will tell you guys, if not, I will also reply, saying that it didn't work/help.

Okay, AJFerguson's link didn't help, but I think I know the problem. I noticed that when I played an older version of minecraft, it said that my video card was old, and I needed a new one. I haven't ever seen that since I got my new video card, and I was thinking that when I logged onto windows 8 side, maybe it messed up my video card, or maybe now window 7 can't see my video card. Either way, I am beginning to think that could be the case.
