I'm relatively new to MC and do nothing with developing nor do I play any multiplayer games. If you have an answer please remember I'm new at this.
Problem: I have been playing with this game for about 8 months now and up until about 4 wks ago it was working perfect.
- I play survival mode. It works perfectly when I first start the world. As it grows (builds a house, mine and build a farm) it
starts to lag. After the lag started the animals would freeze, when I opened a chest the lid stayed
open. After that every time I try to break a block of any type I cant pick it up or anything else for that matter. Lastly, after all of that if I am able to break a block it re-appears in the same spot no matter how many times a
break it. In addition the game won't shut off I have to force quit.
- I deleted the world and tried again. It happened again.
- I deleted the whole program and started a new world, same thing happened.
I have read that there are ongoing problems playing this game on a Mac and on a laptop however, I played this game without problem for about 7 months bldg. a pretty big town before this happened so I'm not sure that is all of the problem.
I have not received a crash report, not that I know of.
System: I have a 2 year old Mac Book Pro 15inch.
OS X 10.9.1
750 GB hard drive (about 60% available memory)
AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB 8GB DDR3

Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_65-b14-462-11M4609) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.65-b04-462, mixed mode)

Thanks to any one who can help.
The world you are in is probably corrupt if it gradually turns that way.
If your world got corrupted you can try to repair it with MCEdit. Open the offending world in MCEdit, press 'ctrl-i' and select 'Repair regions' in the dialogue which pops up. Once this has completed, save your world and exit MCEdit.
To download MCEdit, go to http://www.mcedit.net/ and choose the version appropriate for your OS.
Ok I downloaded the program and open the terminal. The only entry on it is "bash -3.2$"
I can't open MC thru that terminal window. I did open MC with the terminal open and pushed ctrl I. I got a long list but couldn't do anything else. I am not getting the repair regions dialog and when I type it in at the prompt I receive an error that its not a valid option. Do you know what I'm doing wrong?
