When i try and connect to a Lan, it says it would be connecting but it NEVER logs me in, no matter how long i wait and i can't connect to a server even though my username is shorter than 16 characters and it's giving me a error message "Failed to login: invalid session [try restarting your game]" and restarting does not work either, this has been going on ever since i downloaded the launcher
if this has to do anything with firewall problems, im really out of luck because im playing it on a school laptop [which is all i have] and firewall accessibility is blocked...

Correct. This is a school owned machine and they are always locked down to prevent misuse and help protect the system from outside compromise. There is nothing you can do. It is not more along they don't want to block fun, but it is to protect the system from unauthorized usage from outside on a network.
~ Worked much in CST in High School in US.
It is likely blocking the Amazon server for the login session for multiplayer.
