I've been playing Minecraft for about a month now, and I like it very much. I started as easy, then normal and now I'm at hard.
I installed the misa texture pack 2 weeks ago (used by dataless822) and everything run well.
The only problem, since a few days, I have a lack of mobs. I can do my constructions at night time having only 1 mob or 2 showing. I was wondering if they were spawning elsewhere, but I put torches in about all caves that were near my construction site without any success.... At the beginning, I had so many mobs I could'nt go out at night, but now, it is like if I was on peacefull.
I looked at many forums to look for an answer, and could'nt find any real answers (only those who say you are on peaceful, your light level is too high... etc) but that is not the case, I know there is something else in configuration that stopped working. I don't know what file to look, but I found the one that says I think difficulty = 3...
When I play on my creative world flat, I have mobs wandering around, I did'nt look if I have many, but I know there are some.
I did'nt play with any file or settings, so it still at hard and I think there a settings for mobs spawning it is at 100%. Like I said, I can work 3 nights outside without any spawn, then on the 4th night, one spider is showing, or a creeper... but that's it... nothing to be afraid of working outside at night...
I can provide you the data in my files if you want, just tell me what file you need and I'll provide it to you when I get home.
Ok this did'nt resolve my problem... Anybody has an idea ?

Please someone give me an idea, I'm getting bored, if I did'nt want mobs, I would play peaceful instead...
I guess this forum isn't the place too look for that kind of bug.
I have another question, is there another way to re-install the game completely (reseting achievements) but keeping the world ? Because I did re-install, and just replace my saves files in there, but achievements were staying there.... Maybe if I kept only the world files and reset everything, it would resolve the problem.
Because again, everytime I re-install, I get plenty of spawn... but after the 3rd or 4th night... nothing is spawning... and I can go cave exploring without having a single spawn or zombie or creeping getting in my way...
Achievements have been saved per world/server since 1.7. If you have cheats enabled, try doing /gamerule doMobSpawning true. And also make sure you are not on peaceful.
I did some more tests, if somebody can still help me.
When I delete the session.lock & level.dat_old file in my save World, I get maybe 5 or 10 minutes of spawn in my slim farm.... then it fades out, and get no more spawn (or only 1 every 10 minutes).
Same thing with exploring some caves... I get spawns everywhere after deleting these files... then it fades out and no more spawnings...
I don't have cheats enabled... I'm on straight survival and hard... as I mentionned previously, so can't execute any commands like this in the command line.
Sorry for the delay... But it seems to have resolve for the moment.... I don't know what happened... Maybe a bug and playing with the files I resolved the problem... but I don't know how :).
