So I recently decided to play Minecraft after having not touched it for several months and I get very bad lag in singleplayer. Now I know about meeting min requirements and allocating RAM to Java but nothing has helped. I even just said screw it and allocated 3GB to Java even though that is way more than Minecraft needs but no change.
Specs:
i5-3230M CPU @ 2.60GHz
8.00 GB RAM
64-bit OS
NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 660M 2GB
Right click on Minecraft > run with graphics processor > high performance nVidia processor. Please note that more RAM allocated does not mean better performance or higher FPS. That is not how it works.
