Hi, I hadn't seen this error before and did a little research.
My initial conclusion is that there is a good chance that your computer is infected with some kind of malware.
This error is thrown because when you connect to the URL https://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/launcher/launcher.pack.lzma you are actually connecting to a machine that isn't "s3.amazonaws.com"
On the other hand, the S3 pool contains many different server machines and you connect to different ones based upon your geolocation. It's possible that you are connecting to one that is misconfigured.
You should check for malware. If you still have this error you can try adding
-Djsse.enableSNIExtension=false
to the Java parameters in your launcher profile.
** just realized that this happens so early you aren't yet using a profile......
On the assumption that you used the online version of minecraft for the demo.
Try checking that you have allowed the Minecraft.exe through windows firewall OR your internet security firewall. If it isn't added to your exceptions list within the firewall that may be the reason why you cannot connect to the Mojang servers.
If the minecraft program is in fact listed in the exceptions list, going on what gerbil advised, you may very well be infected with a form of malware. If that's the case you will need to remove the malware and restart your computer. Removing the malware is simple just run a security scan using your internet security OR with a program called Kaspersky Malware remover. It is a world renown security program. However your security software should be sufficient enough to remove the malware.
If removing the malware does not solve your problem pm me for more in depth information.
Cheers, Verinity
