Can someone help me get Minecraft running on my Macbook Air. Its the newest version (2013) with 4GB Ram, 1.3 GHz Processor, Intel Integrated HD5000 graphics. I just bought it about a week ago and I go to install the client from the official website. When I try to run it, I get a message saying I need Java so I click "Install now" and it sucessfully installs. I restarted the Macbook and tried running the Minecraft application again and it brings up the same popup saying I still need Java. Can someone help me out?
Minecraft seems like it is not detecting your Java install. Try uninstalling Java and re-installing it from Oracle's website available here: https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp Make sure to download it for Mac OS X. Another thing to make sure of it that you download the OS X Minecraft launcher. Tell me how it goes.
