Hello. I just downloaded Minecraft yesterday and have just started playing around 3 hours ago. I built a house, and had a double chest filled with food, different lumber, and wools and dyes. I also had a crafting table, furnace and bed. After I had finished building my house and making an iron sword and pickaxe, I decided to go and explore.
I wandered too far off collecting flowers (I'm new, ok, I wanted to make dye) and I wound up completely lost. I saw somewhere else on this site that you should put down a chest and fill it with what you had and then die to respawn at your bed, so I did. However, I didn't spawn at my bed. I didn't even spawn at my original spawn point. It did not give me a message saying that my bed was blocked. I simply spawned in a random area.
I'm very confused and frustrated because I've been searching for about half an hour and I can't find any landmarks.I don't understand how to use the coordinates, although I have them written down for the chest. I need to get home, because I had a lot of valuable supplies. I need to get to the chest, because it had 2 diamonds and an emerald in it. I didn't write down the coordinates for my house, because I didn't know how at the time.
Also, I'm playing in Peaceful Mode. (I get afraid at nighttime.)

If u don't now u location or the location of u home, u can use MC-Edit to move u to u home location.
