Hello! ive been searching for the nether1.ogg ,nether2.ogg ,nether3.ogg and nether4.ogg. They were somewhere arround %appdata%/.minecraft/assets but now they are no longer there. i searched ''nether'' on my disk, yet there is nothing, and i have found it before, this file is like a ghost. it keeps dissapearing and reapearing at random times, right now i cant find it anywhere on my computer, yet, i run minecraft and it plays normally. in my assets folder on minecraft there us nothing, just objects and indexes, and in resources there are sound files, like music, newmusic, yet not the nether music. i found them before easily, and even made a shorcut on my desktop but one day i used the shorcut and it told me that it dint find it/ it was moved. i tried using my resource pack but there is nothing in there either. PLEASE HELP ME FIND IT :Cedit: i found a shorcut .minecraft\assets\sounds\music\game\nether\nether2.ogg yet the folders dont even exist, only assets is there. The music still plays in-game.
The folder does not exist, there is nothing, and a message appears saying it cant be found. Help!
(i run windows, just in case. Also, in assets there is only an indexes and objects folder.)

Remove the .minecraft folder then let the launcher redownload the files, it should be back.
The contents of the indexes files tells you which object is nether1.ogg
The launcher had an update several weeks ago and Mojang reorganized the resources so that everything is "virtualized" now. resources are identified by the md5 hash value of the file contents, and the index file specifies which file has which hash.

So for example indexes/1.7.4.json contains:
So assets/objects/71/71cc853556f7ca5784c9e9fc8e0bd6778d13027b is nether1.ogg
well i found it but how do i play it? did mojang go crasy and decided to make it harder? (same with item ids)...
Try looking for the minecraft files under "AppData\Local\VirtualStore\.minecraft" sometimes windows has some kind of permissions issue and it puts files that would be elsewhere in AppData under the VirtualStore folder.
