I got Minecraft around the end of December, and I'm really enjoying it, especially playing online servers. But I've had a problem with my servers list clearing itself randomly, and it's happened over 20 times now. Everytime it happens, I click on multiplayer it and just says: Scanning for games on your local network, as if I had never inputted any servers on it. It happens anytime from a week to 10-30 minutes after joining a server. It's extremely annoying to have to keep adding all of my servers back to the list. Does anyone know why this is happening?
so this is a very easy fix. I found if you go to .minecraft and scroll down you will find a file called: Servers.temp.dat. this is a bug that turns the server.dat into a temp file taht deletes very often.
Just delete it and restart the minecraft launcher, re enter the ips and it should fix. if this continues check and make sure its not .temp.dat anymore.
