Minecraft Freeing Upon Opening a World

I recently received a message in update 1.6.2 or 1.6.4 that my OpenGl was out of date and that would cause problems for me playing Minecraft. It was okay until the next update but then when ever I opened a world or went on a server the entire screen would freeze and I would see through all the blocks in front of me. So my problem is my graphics card stopped getting driver updates in 2009 and I have that one but I cant update OpenGl any further so is there any way to play Minecraft without getting a newer graphics card? Any help would be appreciated .

OK thanks, somewhat disapointed there isn't another way but at least I can still play Minecraft.
