We are currently running Minecraft 1.7.4. We have started this version before, but kept winding up back at a previous version. I (finally) realized this morning that is because the files our desktop shortcut point to have not been modified; the shortcut still points to older information. I cannot find a file named Minecraft 1.7.4 in my computer to make a shortcut to. How can I make a shortcut to the updated version? I'm certain that there must be an easier way than visiting the launcher page https://mojang.com/2013/07/minecraft-the-horse-update/ every time we want to launch Minecraft, and I do not seem to be allowed to download an actual copy of the file located at https://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/launcher/Minecraft.exe.
u need to go to the minecraft download page and download it and put it on your desktop and when you start the launcher in the bottom left hand corner click edit profile then where u see use version click use latest version then save profile and u should be good.
