I am having problems with my lava and water textures and am also getting a lot of lag. I have an old clunky computer that I never got very good FPS before but its unplayable now. I would love to upload a screen shot of what the texture problem looks like but I guess I have to have the photo on some sight already to do so. A brief explanation of the texture is it gets transparent and pixilated at the same time. The pixels are in very simply colors, 8 or so, and both the water and lava look identical. I can reload textures using F3+T and they appear for a moment then go back to the pixilated issue. Even reloading the sound using F3+S fixes it for a moment. Has anyone run into this and if so how can I fix it?
So I have discovered that I can reload the textures and everything works great as long as I am not holding a torch. As soon as I select a torch on my hot bar, the lava and water textures go to crap and the lag spikes through the roof. Like 1-5 FPS. Please help me!
I have tried deleting all of my versions and re-downloading the game to no avail.
So after hours of fiddling, deleting, reinstalling, re-downloading, updating and testing I figured out what is causing my problem. It has something to do with the Mipmap Levels. I have to turn them off. I have no idea what they do but my computer can’t handle it. Man I wish I could afford a new compute! Moderators, you may close this thread.
