Ok, so here's my issue. I was having some issues with Minecraft so I deleted .minecraft. It still wasn't working right so I decided to uninstall Java and re-install it. I re-installed, using JRE version 7.51 (for Windows 7 64-bit), and I also re-installed Minecraft again. However, after re-downloading the .exe, Minecraft now gives me this error:
(Window's Title = Launch4j)
The registry refers to a nonexistent Java Runtime Environment installation or the runtime is corrupted.
The system cannot find the path specified.
Now, I figured, maybe Java din't install correctly, so I went to the website and clicked the "Verify Version" thing. It said I had version 7 build 15 installed. To double-check, I went to the "Uninstall old version" section and went through that process. Again it said I had no older versions, and I was using the recommended build of JRE version 7 build 15. I didn't know what else to do, so I re-ran the installer, but it said that the version was already installed. However, if it's installed why isn't it being detected by Minecraft?
System Specs:
Manufacturer Hewlett-Packard
Model p7-1037c
Total amount of system memory 16.0 GB RAM
System type 64-bit operating system
Number of processor cores 4
Network Adapter Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller
Network Adapter 802.11n Wireless LAN Card
Java Runtime Environment Version 7 Build 15
EDIT:
I have now tried using a laptop to download Minecraft. This laptop is using JRE 7 (not sure on the build version), and Minecraft runs perfectly on it. Again, my computer is running JRE 7.51, so I don't know why it thinks there's no path.
I have been having a lot of issues with Minecraft, slowly figuring out what is wrong and fixing things only for new problems to occur. I have been unable to find anything on Google about this issue, so please don't say "Google it" as I've spent a lot of time trying to.
You sir are a lifesaver, I thought the Java problem was Minecraft only but it was also affecting everything (I needed java for school too). It works now though! Thank you so much, and I will make sure to be more cautious when uninstalling Java next time!
