Alright, so I was playing the game and my computer ed up. It's recurring problem that happens occasionally, where my monitor will go black, my fans will kick up to their max, and my computer will start beeping while it's numlock, capslock, and scroll-lock lights start flashing. It's really weird because it appears to me like that's an overheating reaction, even though my computer isn't hot and the heatsinks/fans are perfectly clean, and if you watch the temps on any monitoring software you'll see nothing is wrong.
That aside though - it happened when I was running a Minecraft server and now the the map is corrupted. I haven't checked in-depth so I don't know just how much corruption it may have been, but so far there are a few problems I've noticed:
1. All player data is gone or at least unreadable. I was loaded at the world-spawn with no items or achievements when I started again.
2. There's a bad chunk near the place I was when my computer crashed.
3. I'm getting a lot of "ChunkFile XX,XX is in the wrong location; relocating" errors in the server console.
If your world got corrupted you can try to repair it with MCEdit. Open the offending world in MCEdit, press 'ctrl-i' and select 'Repair regions' in the dialogue which pops up. Once this has completed, save your world and exit MCEdit.
To download MCEdit, go to http://www.mcedit.net/ and choose the version appropriate for your OS.
I'll try it myself. The file exceeds 100mb and it took forever trying to upload it on Mediafire (Mediafire says it would take 7 - 12 hours).
I'll report back when I've gotten some time to try it. Now I'm having trouble fixing a relationship which has of course taken priority over this... Minecraft won't fix a broken heart, after all...
I now i now. But its help if u GF play Minecraft to ,-))
Btw.: I don't know it there are someone in the world there have an worst Interconnection them my.

4. Game is laggier than it was before the crash.
On the bad chunk, I know the following:
1. The chunk appears to be rendered when you're at a far distance.
2. However, when you move in close enough to actually render it, it's clearly a bad chunk.
( Close-up of the bad chunk with debug data on-screen )
3. Typical methods of dealing with bad chunks (EG: F3 + A) are not working.
Is there any way to fix this bad chunk? It's really just a gaping hole in the world right next to my lighthouse and it is not pretty at all.
Is there any way to fix this without resorting to backups? Using my last backup would mean countless hours of lost work.
Thanks in advance...
