I have been playing on a creative server for the past week (on 1.7.4) and have been enjoying it. Everything was going very well, no disconnections unless the server restarts, no lag, it was all perfect. But today i have been trying to connect and after 30 seconds i get "Internal Exception: java.io.IOException: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host". I have found every single thread on this and everyone always says go back to an earlier version, well it wont even run in 1.6.4, and it still disconnects in 1.7.2. I have no idea what this even means so any answer without "revert to an earlier version" would be greatly appreciated.
