I have been playing on my singleplayer world in 1.7.4 since it released. So when the new snapshot (14w02a) was released, like always, I downloaded it right away. It had been out for awhile when I downloaded it and I hadn't heard of any game-breaking bugs, so I decided to try it in my world (a backup, of course). I noticed right away that my frames were fine (not good, but normal for my PC). But I noticed a ton of zombies were totally glitching out, my enderpearls were freaking out, and my arrows took forever. So, basically I was experiencing really bad SMP lag on singleplayer. I also have a ton of mob farms in the area, and I noticed my Iron Foundry was broken. Then, I took the same backup, and reverted back to 1.7.4 The Iron Foundy worked fine and everything was running smoothly. I am really looking forward to playing this snapshot, but I am really concerned with what is going on.
As well, updating to the b and c snapshots has not helped.
Thank you very to much anyone who responds with some advice.
Also, if it helps to know, I have loaded many new worlds and haven't had any problems. As well I used my creative world on the snapshots and everything was fine.
To anybody is experiencing similar problems, it has been solved. Unfortunately, due to the new villager mechanics, all Iron Foundry's are not only broken, but due to the now-overlapping villages, they cause serious amounts of lag (basically if you have one of these farms in your world that world is almost unplayable now). I for one really hope they change villager breeding back to the way it used to be, but this is just a heads up!
Yeah, it looks like they specifically killed both iron (golem) farms, and villager "breeding pits". This while introducing crafting recipes for all the formerly "rare" blocks. Bah, I just don't know how they think.
I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.
