For the past month or two I can't play minecraft any time I break or place any block all of the chunks in the world disappear. Only water/lava and mobs are visible. At first I thought it was because of optifine but I have completely deleted my mineraft jar several times. The problem persists. Anyone know what causes this or better yet a fix for it?

Retired StaffEdit: going back a patch seems to have worked, though it did not work in the past.
Turn off mipmap, and set your world loading to default
It now happens when I pull out a torch.
