I tamed, saddled, armored, and rode a horse to the middle of a desert, placed a bed, and went mining. After re-surfacing, I fell in my hole and died. After retrieving all my stuff, I went over to ride my horse back out of the desert to get more supplies. Right-clicking my horse with no object, with food, shift + right-clicking, and even attacking my horse were completely ineffective in getting a reaction.
I haven't tried a new horse yet, because I am in the middle of a desert. My horse still has its armor and saddle equipped, and it may not currently be unequipped.
The horse is equipped with my only saddle, so if i can't ride it, I would really like to get my saddle back. Other horses are still tameable
Is this a bug, or does dying make tamed horses immune to all player contact?
Same stats, same world, different horse, same problem.
Last time when I fixed it, my horse was wearing golden horse armor, this time it is wearing diamond horse armor, and shooting it with an arrow lets it take damage, but it's ineffective in fixing it this time.
Any help is appreciated.

Shooting it with an arrow worked, it took damage and I was then able to ride it.
Sorry, fixed it myself.
But now we know, projectiles solve everything.
