Minecraft doesnt load

Hello,My minecraft game wont load. When i click on the icon for minecraft it just doesn't do anything. I got it to work today but it said play offline and i tried many times. Im on windows 8. Can you help please?

you may need a new version of the launcher, try this https://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/launcher/Minecraft.exe

Hello, why do you use really freaking large text and a different font? It's completely unnecessary.
