Ok, I have a total of 8 Giga bytes of ram on my windows 8 pc. When I plug this in to allocate 2 gigs of memory to minecraft (I put in this code: -Xmx2G -Xms2G. Also, I'm putting it in this in the "Executable" spot: C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\javaw.exe), and when I run it, it creates an error, which says: "Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine" Then, in the same error box under it, it says: "Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit." My minecraft is extremely laggy, and I just want to put 2 gigs of memory on it. Please, someone help me.
Allocating more RAM does not make the game run smoother, just a fyi.
Please note that you cannot allocate more than 1.5GB of RAM to a 32-bit installation of Java, which is the cause of your error. The (x86) in the Java executable path means the game is using a 32-bit installation of Java. You would need the 64-bit variant instead, http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Well, actually, I didn't get the message, but when I click "Play" The green loading bar loads, as normal, then it stops and the "Play" option comes up again and minecraft does not open.
Well, nevermind. I was executing the wrong place. Anyways, thanks.
