The Minecraft site said I could have two accounts on one computer - my kids want totally separate accounts, without access to each other's worlds. But no matter what I do, when I log out and back in, the same worlds are coming up. My oldest got his account on December 26th, so has already been playing a lot and created worlds. I bought a second account today, January 3rd, thinking my other son could just log into his account and create his own worlds separately. I realize that I am probably a complete idiot and completely stupid for not understanding what I'm sure is a simple solution to this problem, but I just can't figure it out! Please help! My oldest is crying because he can't play, and my younger son and myself are both afraid I'll somehow delete his files if I don't know what I'm doing.
Thanks!!!
Edited to add: I am on a Mac, if that makes any difference.
You can also specify the game directory in the different profiles by using the profile editor on the bottom left corner of the launcher. Do this and set different directory for different profiles. Though this is more trouble than its worth, as you need to pick the profile after you logout of the launcher under a different account.
Thank you Thank You! I was feeling like such an idiot and I knew it had to be something simple. I swear, I read that over and over again on the Minecraft website, but it just wasn't clicking that I needed to make a new COMPUTER user account, I just kept thinking it was something I had to to do with the game and logging in on the separate game accounts. I knew it had to be something simple.
