"Just go to Control Panel\System and Security\System. Click the "Advanced System settings" link on the left and it will popup with a system properties box. Click the environment variables box at the bottom of the "Advanced" tab. ANOTHER box will pop up with user variables for your system. If there is a variable "_Java_Options" with the value "-xm -1 -xm -1".......DELETE IT. Confirm deletion. Click "OK" at the bottom of the Environment Variables box.
I had the same Variable but with 2g instead of just 1. Delete it and it should fix your problem."
Not the best at knowing how to fix things unless I've experienced them, but I sure can google. Sorry if you've already seen this.

so it basically went from -Xmx1G to -Xmx2G
But when i start up minecraft, it says ERROR: could not create java virtual machine
ERROR: a fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.
i was able to do this before my computer completely reset (deleted everything)
i have 3 gb free of space to start up mc so i don't know it crashes
Any ideas?
