I was just playing normally, and then Minecraft started being slow and laggy. I pressed F3 so I could see the coordinates and come back if I died. I was about turn Peaceful mode on, but I Creeper came and exploded me. I came back to the place I died (with the "/tp" command). I saw the hole the Creeper made, but all my items dissapeared! I had 9 stacks of iron, some diamonds, very good enchanted diamond sword and pickaxe, and a full map with maximum zoom out (Map #4). How can I get my items back? And Minecraft always runs out of memory since I bought the premium 1.7.4 version (I had a cracked version 1.5.2). How can I fix this? :'(
Have Minecraft allocate more memory. There is a nice tutorial on it here. Regarding your items issue, do the following to back-up your world in case something goes wrong.
Assuming you have Windows 7,
Go to start and type %appdata% and press enter. You should see .minecraft towards the top, open it.
Go to saves, and find your folder.
Copy it somewhere where you can get to it easily.
Once you have Minecraft Allocate more memory drag your save folder in the the saves folder.
