I have been having a trio of problems since 1.7 came out and the 2 biggest ones are...
1) the memory is cycleing through the allocated space an alarming speed. cycleing through 5-10 mb per SECOND. in about 20 min I have cycled through all the memory but I never seem to run out. in 1.6 I had the same issue BUT Only when zombies couldn't get to their target (villagers and me). now its happening all the time. I reported it as a bug when I discovered it in the snapshots but the mods there wrote it off as invalid.
2) I have had High CPU usage especially since 1.7.4 came out. I have turned everything down to the minimum and started to play the game in full screen and that solved it for a while until today (12/30/13). now its back and I cant fix it. it only happens on single player worlds. Internet servers are OK for now but I'm watching it closely. If this keeps up I may have to quit MC altogether to save my laptop :/ the only way I can play sp is to have v-sync ON. without it I cant play at all on singleplayer
I have windows 7
Latest java,
intell Pentium Processor (has 2 cpus)
Graphics are intell HD Graphics
mc normally allows 512mb but I can allocate 1gb if needed (I have 4 gig total)
all settings are at min or off (except V-sync and clouds)
Fps is locked at 40
Like the bus pictured below, I have seen better days but I'm still running with this saying "If your going through HELL, KEEP GOING " ~Winston Churchill
(update) I have tried setting the affinity on mc to use the 2nd processor but it didn't help me at all with the cpu usage or memory but it did fix my fps. I turned off clouds but no help there either. I tried the garbage collecting thing in another thread that was having a similar issue but that made the problem worse. anyone have any other advice or tips to help. I have had to stop altogether any single player projects I'm working on.
