Pretty sure I've done just about everything I can do.
Windows 7. Not sure of all the specs but I can run Skyrim, Mass Effect 2, Far Cry 3 and Just Cause 2 just fine.
Yes my drivers are updated.
Yes my Java is updated.
Nothing else is opened.
Not using LAN. I never play online. Open to LAN is not enabled and wifi was disabled for my entire PC.
Latest version of Minecraft.
Tried restarting PC and the game.
ALL blocks, once destroyed, reappear in the same spot. Sometimes the blocks will fall, but I can not pick them up from the ground.
Things were working fine yesterday. Before this issue, I noticed that Minecraft was extremely slow and was revving my pc up so hot my entire computer actually turned off.
I cleaned the fan and yes it is otherwise well ventilated.
Yes I've defragged and scanned for virus.
Downloading Terrain takes forever to load.
No mods, never used mods. Nothing has been altered.
Not using adventure mode
I have deleted the entire minecraft folder and restarted and redownloaded. Loading my previous saves I still can not destroy blocks to yield new blocks and I also can't continue in other saves either.
New saves work.. but clearly are also glitching and showing early signs of what caused problems with my current saves.
Overall, Minecraft lately has been running like I'm trying to play 3 graphically intensive games at once. I'm on a laptop but out of all my other games, this game gives me the most crap. Whatever the problem is, it is just Minecraft. Any idea what to do?
Minecraft launches with 3 separate instances of "JAVAW". I am able to close one (Via Windows Task Manager) without problem so is this launching 3 times or something? I only click it twice for 1 launch. I do not see otherwise duplicates, no duplicates on my tray or anything. I only see the 3 different JAVAWs on Windows Task Manager. With that program closed, Items do now break however do not drop anything. I don't see them on the ground if I break dirt for example.
My world is completely lost I guess. Here is a zoomed out perspective of a location from an OLD photo BEFORE my problems occured, the first picture is facing the opposite but still you should see some of the items in both images. That lake at the bottom right is where the second photo is facing. It just doesn't load anything anymore though. I walked into the area and I just fall.. then eventually end back to that part that IS loaded. At one point, the game DID start working as normal but I was tired and restarted and now it is back not working again. So whatever it is.. it DOES have potential to work again.

If your world got corrupted you can try to repair it with MCEdit. Open the offending world in MCEdit, press 'ctrl-i' and select 'Repair regions' in the dialogue which pops up. Once this has completed, save your world and exit MCEdit.

If it helps, originally my problem was not receiving anything for destroying blocks. Then the blocks would pop back into place completely. Now only a certain area (chunk?) loads still with the previous problems. when I make a completely new game, I'm noticing the first 2 steps glitching their way back after a split second or two.
I can't post on here anymore.. I guess I am having terrible luck. Nothing happens when I click Post. To answer the poster BELOW this post, here is the information.
Please show us a DxDiag; that might help us work things out.
Also, please run minecraft, create a new world, break a block, then quit back to the launcher. Click 'development console' and paste all of it here - please put

Doesn't look like it; your DxDiag shows you have a Lenovo 0862, which has an NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M and an Intel HD Graphics 3000. The DxDiag shows the Intel driver igdumd64.dll version 8.15.0010.2462 - the intel site, for your operating system, has version 9.17.10.3347.
That's OK; I watch House, so I know that "everybody lies".

Re. video card - you have 2; one integrated Intel card, and one NVidia. The NVidea might be an up-to-date driver, but it looks like the Intel isn't. Minecraft might be using the integrated card - that was the one reported by the DxDiag. That might be a problem too, but we can maybe deal with that later.
Re. Java - seems like Minecraft is just not using the updated version then. There can be several reasons for that, but the full removal/reinstallation in the instructions should solve that, no matter which reason it is.
Well I just did all of this and what you put in the other thread. Nothing has worked. I guess at this point I'm going to reformat my entire system.. which is not going to be an easy process without proper internet. The file can't be corrupted because once again it worked.. then I had to go to sleep and now it's not working at all anymore. There isn't anything special that I'm doing to get this work. It is all chance, at least this means my world isn't corrupted though right?

Retired StaffThat log tells us nothing sadly.
Contrary to popular belief, Minecraft is not a "simple block game". It renders each and every block individually(instead of rendering giant meshes of textures in most 3D games), making the both CPU and GPU work harder than most other games.

um I'm not a liar, idk what you see but it's telling me that i am indeed updated for both http://imgur.com/a/W9wPj
http://imgur.com/ZDh1thF and i have the Lenovo Y570
I'll try those directions again anyway.
