I am at the end of my rope here and I could really use some help. Minecraft isn't loading on both of my machines (Macbook Pro and Windows 7 PC) since the last upgrade. The launcher opens, it downloads some files then towards the end it starts giving me various error messages (Failed to download etc) and the Play button becomes Clickable again and nothing happens. I tried downgrading/upgrading Java and both times it didn't work. I don't know if I am doing anything wrong I tried a lot of the YouTube fixes too.
I have also tried downloading the Technic Launcher and run the modded game from there (Tekkit, Voltz) but it also fails to download towards the end.
Keep in mind the problem happened on two different computers, the same problem. And this is just driving me crazy. Is it a connection problem? Am I behind a firewall of some sort?

OK I found a workaround! And hopefully this can be also mentioned in the troubleshooting part for all other users who have a similar problem. So after going through that log file I figured out something is blocking me from downloading the required libraries. I launched Hotspot Shield (VPN) and used it to connect and it worked! Apparently and since I live in Saudi Arabia those servers are blocked for some reason and I had to bypass the country's proxy to be able to download them! Everything is working perfectly fine now including the modded launchers.
