Well the question is in the title, in addition I am getting a few other glitches in relation to this issue.
Also, if I placed this question in the wrong area please bear with me its the first time I have used the forums.
Any ways I have a great 1.7.4 world with a village I have grown into a large city and I have been expanding nicely around this hub to the games north of this village I had a really nice roofed forest biome. I made the mistake of loading this world in a 1.6.4 version when I was trying out some old mods. Well my roofed forest got decimated all of my 2x2 dark oak trees were removed. I figure that there is really no way to fix this except to use a previous save but I was hoping someone had an idea.
In addition I have a slightly more serious problem with this issue, because I have been in the area for well over 50 hours I am getting some crazy monster spawns in this area which is directly north of my capital. luckily it is well fortified and the mobs cannot get in, but the area acts as if there are still trees shading the mobs, they do not burn during the day, at least in specific areas where the trees used to provide shade. I know spiders, creepers and witches do not burn, as well as zombies with helms is there any way to fix this? it seemed that as I explored the terrain again the shaded areas reloaded and stopped providing sun shelter to the mobs but I think they reload back to providing shade when I leave the immediate vicinity.
Finally, do monsters have an increased spawn rate in Roofed forest biomes?
U can tray to start the world in 1.7.4, save them.
Load it in MC-Edit, mark u forest place (hope the was natural) with Chunk-tool.
Say in the Chunk-tool "REPOP".
Save the map.
Start Minecraft normal and visit the Forest.
