I finally broke down and bought minecraft for my kids, and me. We have been playing the 360 (single player only) version for a year or so and the demo mode pc version for about a month. My kids are all under 10 and I would like to remove the multiplayer option for now. Is there an easy way to do this?
I run linux for my home pc and have created user accounts for each kid. I put a copy of the game in each of their home folders and set it up with my minecraft account so they can play the full game. For now, there are no servers in the list. It won't be too long though, before my older two figure that out, especially when they get back to school.
I was hoping for some kinds of command line argument to put in the launcher but I have not been able to find anything.
You could always block port 25565 in your router, though they might just play on servers that dont use that port
This will work for short term. They will probably eventually figure out to use a server that uses a different port. However, I may want to play multiplayer eventually and this would be a hassle turning that port on and off and eventually forget to turn it off when done.

I don't want to remove internet access as they use that to access homework assignments and projects from the school website.
