So, I haven't played Minecraft for awhile, but recently my clan decided to start up a faction, so I decided to warm up my game. When I connected to the server they were on, I ran the game perfectly fine and traveled around with them near spawn for about four to six minutes until this ugly, hideous, and absolutely positively dumb message appeared on my screen after everybody in my server froze:
io.netty.handler.timeout.readtimeoutexception
Somebody please help me out! I really just want to play with my clan.
This issue occurs on all servers, and has happened in the past.
First fix to work gets a free internet cookie and album of random pictures off of Google images!
That error is caused by the connection to the server, well, essentially timing out.
Think of it as I send someone a file, but they don't send anything back in a certain amount of time, and I just stop waiting for a reply.
That's basically what's happening, your game is trying to "talk" with the server, but the server does not send anything back in a set amount of time, so the client is kicked with that message.
If you were able to connect to the server, you should try connecting to it again.
If you get the same issue, try another server; if it returns the same error, there is likely something on your side that may need fixing, otherwise, it's probably just that server to blame.
