I am sorry if this has been asked before, but I have done several searches on the matter and turned up nothing that pertains to my particular situation. Recently (since the latest update) I have been having issues with the launcher. First, I have my launcher set up to auto-login and rather than giving me the option to play, it simply says to play offline. This wasn't a problem after it started, I could still connect to servers. However, now it seems that it won't let me connect at all. I tried exiting and reloading MC, but to no avail. I figured logging out and back in would fix this, but that seems to have it's own issues too. Now when I try to log in, it says I have an invalid user name or pass, and I have to exit out and reload, try all over again multiple times before it allows me to play. This only lasts until I exit out of MC, then it starts all over again.
This happens when I exit out of a game and come back to it, if I switch to an older version (some of the servers I play are still on 1.6.4) or if I change texture packs.
This hasn't happened before, and I am hoping to not have to uninstall/reinstall to get this corrected. If anyone happens to have a solution to this problem, please let me know.
Well it is possible that there are issues with the auth servers, as I have been having login issues as well, but not like that. First of all remove your .minecraft, and re-download the launcher. That way you eliminate the issue of corruption. How old is this computer, and have you lost power recently?
