My minecraft starting acting very oddly a couple of minutes ago. It is showing patchy images in place of textures, and mobs are constantly strobing from there to not there to patchy to no there to there. It also seems that things off in the distance, a couple chunks away, are also strobing like this. The game's basic HUDs and GUIs are filled in with very patchy textures as well.
I am running the game on a MacBook Pro, and have been for a year now, and it's always run fine before. I have several mods installed on my Forge profile, but this problem is happening on my vanilla profile. The account I'm using is legit and I have been using it for about 2 years.
I have tried restarting the game, switching profiles, and adding more ram. So far nothing has helped. I wonder if it is a corrupted save file that is corrupting all the others, maybe.
EDIT: Backed up saves then reinstalled minecraft. This seems to have helped severely, but things like potions and enchantments still cause strobing and spazzing GUI's.
EDIT: Tried turning off mipmap. I can't say for sure yet if it worked entirely or not, but I can say that the mipmap level is affecting it, and turning down the level helps.

Moderatorthat may have done the trick. i can't be sure at this point, but it certainly seems that the mipmap level is affecting it. thank you!
EDIT: It is still happening every once and a while, even with mipmap levels off.
